Silver Calcium Alginate DressingThe calcium alginate dressing works through ion exchange, forming a hydrogel structure that greatly helps reduce pressure on the wound. By helping granulation tissue form in the wound, it speeds up healing. Like the plain calcium alginate dressing, this dressing has a significant absorption capacity. The silver ions in the dressing have a significant antibacterial effect on wounds.
The presence and distribution of silver ions give it a significant antibacterial effect, especially in wounds prone to infection.
